"The World in 2008"

The England-based, but worldwide read weekly magazine The Economist, which focuses mostly on news, politics and business, has an article in its latest issue that introduces some developments for the year 2008. The followin excerpt lists iliketotallyloveit.com as an example:
Vicarious consumption, a term coined a century ago by an economist, Thorstein Veblen, to describe the thrill rich people get when they buy their butler a lovely new uniform, is making a comeback in a new form, according to Amsterdam-based Trendwatching. It involves services for telling consumers “exactly what other consumers are enjoying and valuing most”—websites such as iliketotallyloveit.com [...] are part of the trend.
"Vicarious consumption" is an interesting term which we'll do some thinking on :-)
